The Audit section: what InvoSeal records about every invoice and why it is your best witness

"When exactly was it issued? Who cancelled it? Did the customer ever see it?" When these questions arise — in a commercial dispute, an official enquiry, a courtroom — memory is worth nothing and the log is worth everything. The Audit section is that log.

What gets recorded

Every document carries its complete, immutable event history, timestamped:

Three situations where the log decides

1. "That invoice never reached me." Audit: sent on the 3rd, portal opened on the 4th, PDF downloaded on the 4th. The conversation shifts from "whether it arrived" to "when you're paying" — and in a payment-order procedure, that trail accompanies the invoice as evidence. 2. An AEAT enquiry about a cancellation. The cancellation event with date, cause and user, plus the linked corrective invoice, tell the whole story with no reconstructions — exactly what the invoicing-systems rules want to be able to see. 3. An internal dispute ("who changed the price on that draft?"): the edit history answers without office drama.

Audit and VeriFactu: two layers of one principle

VeriFactu's chained register guarantees that what was invoiced is complete and unalterable. The event log guarantees that what was done with each invoice is reconstructible. Together: total traceability — what was issued, when, by whom, who saw it and what happened next. No spreadsheet, however tidy, can offer that.

Five habits that pay off

1. In any payment dispute, export the document's history along with the PDF: the full pack for your lawyer or the court. 2. In teams, review cancellation and correction events monthly: the cheapest internal control there is. 3. Check the audit view before answering any official enquiry — reply with exact dates, not approximations. 4. The portal trail (viewed/accepted) is also a commercial argument: customers who know everything is logged pay better. 5. Don't delete recipients with history — deactivate them. History is worth more than tidiness.

Modern invoicing isn't just issuing nicely: it's being able to prove, two years later and in two clicks, exactly what happened. That's Audit. Questions about what it keeps or how to export it? Open a Support ticket.
